So next week when the crib has been completed this is the next contestant up for construction. I made this doodle on a program called Google Sketchup and although it took a long time to draw considering I had to learn a new drawing program I think it worked out really well. So next I convert the program to ACAD and put some dimensions to paper. From there I can CNC the curved bulkhead and cut the flutes for the front columns. Figure out the mouldings to us and then sand sand sand. Again, Pics to come as progress ensues.

So last year at the Festa Toscana I'm talking to my cousin Vanda who had just come back from her honeymoon and the conversation swings around to making little people. So I figure by the time they get around to it, and the little monkey has time to cook... I'll have lots of time to make them a crib.

So low and behold she's got a bun in the oven and her due date is pretty much the day of my wedding. Busy Busy Busy I tell you. The pic above is from the website where you get the hardware to make the bed. I'm hoping to have it completed by the end of the week. Fingers crossed... Finished pic coming soon.

Something fishy this way comes.

Okay, actually it doesn't smell. No, Wait. It does smell, but like cedar which to me is an awesome smell. So after some cursing, swearing and most of the weekend I've figured out engraving on the CNC machine. This being the result...

My boss and his buddies have gone on a week long fishing trip and this is the prize for the largest catch of the week. So... let's see what else I can carve up.

Viva Italia.

Well today was very very soccer orientated. Michelle and I made the trek to South Surrey to watch the game on Nicks and Jules' HD projection screen Tv. I must say that I am very happy with my tv at home but, watching sports on a 8' TV is very nice. So what exectly do you have to say to someone that would make them head butt you?

After watching THE game we went outside and hada small soccer game ourselves. I just know my legs are going to hurt tomorrow.

After the game I was Mauled by a BEAR! Yes, a bear. It has sharp teeth and growls a lot. See look... a BEAR a tell ya...

Yes, I know. Very Scary. His name is Nero and he is the newest addition to the Balenzano family.

This week should be nutz. Due dates are looming and not enough meatheads in the shop to do it all. Oh well, back to long hours. At least it shouldnt be too hot this week.

See ya.

Coffee Table.

I've already posted a picture with the table half done. I never completed it for christmas nor the one xmas after that. So hear at long last...

Heres a closer look at the top showing the Figured Maple edging and plywood birdseye panels with the grain facing the centre of the unit.

It turned out pretty good... I think anyways.

I dont post enough.

One of my good friends got married a short time ago and of course I took some pictures. You'd think I'd remember I have this blog going and could post some of the pics I keep taking...

Better late than never I guess:

I can remember a time when those kids weren't as tall as that railing. That was many a gray hair ago.

Look, he's already used to Marcia getting the upper hand. Hey fair is fair... It's not like he's not going to say anything whem my time comes. Congrates you two.

So after a terrific weekend it all went to crap when I got to work Monday morning. I don't know very many details, but I'm saddened to say that one of my fellow coworkers had an accident involving a train friday night and was killed. Will Armstrong was 21 years old and a good kid. He was quick with the jokes and a good woodworker. Your in my thoughts and prayers Will. God Bless.

So all in all Michelle and I had a very good weekend. Friday night I stayed out late playing Texas holdem with the boys. Ivano was throwing me off my game this time around and I ended OUT first. There was 10 of us playing so it took forever to get the game moving. For whatever reason I like a quick tempo to the games and Ivan was slowing it down on purpose so out of shear frustration I was betting stupid. Oh well... I"ll know for next time.

Saturday we went to church... Why you ask? Well these people were getting married:

Yup, Introducing Nick and Julie Balenzano

The entire clan was in the wedding party:

I only hope my ever nearing doom, er, I mean wedding is half as nice as this one was. The Hall was beautiful, the food was awesome... and the dancing well:

A good time was had by all, and of course you can't have an Italian wedding without a "Hey, how you do'en:

And Sunday well other than a couple of chores around the house it was mostly recovering from yesturday. How does it go "Viva Il Sposee" I'm sure I spelt it wrong... but it's the thought that counts.

Right now though... I'm in CLASS. Yup, I'm a freakin student. ACAD 101. Downtown Campus. Raced out of work today and got my butt downtown.

Course now people are wondering why I'm typing so much when there trying to figure out how to access the network drives.

Gawd dangit... I'm freakin tired.

Well, in the hope that I may learn something... Time to pay attention.

Later.
